Is your business ready to use AI?
A practical AI readiness assessment examines whether your workflows, information and teams are prepared for change — before your business commits to tools, pilots or automation.
What is an AI readiness assessment?
An AI readiness assessment checks whether an organisation has the processes, data, approvals and staff capacity needed to use AI responsibly. It is different from simply identifying exciting AI software. A promising tool is not a practical opportunity if the underlying records are unreliable, the process changes every week or no one can review its output.
Kiexus includes an appropriately scoped readiness review within its Business AI Opportunity Audit. The goal is to identify realistic first steps, constraints that need addressing and areas where no AI investment is yet justified.
What we assess
- Workflow clarity: what work takes place, where delays occur, how decisions are approved and how often exceptions arise.
- Data availability and quality: whether the information a proposed system would need is complete, accessible and appropriate to use.
- People and oversight: who would operate the process, check AI-generated outputs, own errors and support staff with change.
- Existing systems: which tools are already in use, what functionality they provide and whether simpler automation could be sufficient.
- Privacy and security considerations: whether the proposed workflow involves personal, confidential or commercially sensitive information, and which internal reviews would be needed.
Readiness is not the same as opportunity
An AI opportunity audit asks where new technology might create business value. An AI readiness assessment asks whether the company can implement those opportunities safely and successfully. Both questions matter. A time-consuming process might be a strong candidate for automation but still need cleaner data, clearer ownership or better controls before work begins.
The final prioritisation considers expected value, likely effort and risk together. We do not assume that every repetitive task needs a generative AI system.
How an assessment fits into the Kiexus audit
- 1. Agree the audit scope: identify the initial department, relevant management and staff, and a defined set of workflows.
- 2. Understand current operations: speak with the people doing the work and map the tools, hand-offs and information involved.
- 3. Evaluate readiness: check practical barriers such as missing data, unclear approvals and the need for human oversight.
- 4. Present a decision-ready plan: explain which opportunities merit a pilot, which need groundwork and which should be left alone.
What you receive
Your findings feed into the written AI opportunity report: a prioritised list of suitable use cases, supporting assumptions, readiness risks, indicative implementation and ongoing costs, and a focused 30/60/90-day roadmap.
The assessment is operational guidance, not a certification of UK GDPR, cybersecurity, regulatory compliance or the safety of a particular AI product. Specialist reviews should be commissioned where the proposed use cases require them.
AI readiness assessment price
The defined readiness review forms part of the Business AI Opportunity Audit, starting from £2,500 for business-level discovery and one priority department. Additional departments start from £1,000 each. The written scope confirms interviews, workflows, access and deliverables before work begins. Kiexus is not VAT-registered; no VAT is added to the advertised fees.
Larger departments, highly sensitive processes or specialist technical assessments may require a tailored quote. AI implementation, software licences, training and ongoing consultancy are separately agreed.
Questions before an AI readiness assessment
Do we need new AI software to benefit? Not necessarily. Existing systems, conventional automation or a clearer process may be a better first move.
Does Kiexus need confidential customer records for the first meeting? No. If later work requires personal or sensitive data, we agree the necessary permissions, security measures and contractual arrangements first.
Can the assessment conclude that we should wait? Yes. If the organisation lacks suitable workflows, accessible information or clear accountability, the recommendation may be to improve those foundations before investing.
